Inside the Lumberjack's House is part of Vella's Storyline in Broken Age. Here, Vella will meet some new friends, and possibly new enemies.

Go directly to the right, and take the Stained Glass Sun. Move down the stairs, and look at the object above the fireplace. Go talk to the Curtis the lumberjack who is cowering, and talk to him for a while before he mentions his axe. Interact with the Art Piece behind him and then ask Curtis about the art. Say you like how it matches his decor and he will tell you to take it away. Take the Art Piece and the Axe near the exit.
Go down the path, and when you get to the T-intersection, move to the East (right). Look at the Tree that is trying to talk, and hit it with your Axe. This will allow them to talk to you, and will open up a ton of dialogue. After you exhaust the dialog options, move right.
